Family Advocacy Day 2024

June 12 - 14, 2024

Advocacy Event

About This Event

Family Advocacy Day (FAD) is a critical piece of Children's Hospital Association's year-round advocacy. FAD remains our marquee event for elevating patient stories and educating federal lawmakers and staff about the unique role children’s hospitals play in the health and well-being of children. Bringing patients and their families to Capitol Hill increases awareness about the ongoing and essential care provided by children's hospitals across the country.

The 2024 Children’s Hospital Association Family Advocacy Day will be held June 12-14, at the JW Marriott in Washington, D.C.

Through this special event, patients and their families will meet with federal policymakers and their staff to increase awareness and advance public policy priorities to address:

  • The workforce shortage of doctors and other health care professionals trained to meet the unique health care needs of children.
  • The vital role Medicaid and CHIP play in families’ lives, providing health insurance to nearly half of all children in the U.S.
  • The mental, emotional, and behavioral health emergency facing children and teens.

More information and resources for FAD will be shared as it becomes available on our government relations professionals community.
