The Children's Hospitals Graduate Medical Education (CHGME) program is the only federal program devoted to the training of pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists. Since its founding in 1999, CHGME-affiliated programs have been responsible for 80% of the increase in the number of new pediatric specialists trained nationwide.
