CHA, Vizient Announce Expanded Agreement for Enhanced Supply Chain, Pharmacy and Analytics Support

Children's Hospital Association members will gain access to services bolstering financial sustainability and cost control.

IRVING, Texas, and WASHINGTON, D.C. — Children’s Hospital Association (CHA) and Vizient® announced an expansion of their long-standing partnership, strengthening access to advanced supply chain, pharmacy and analytics capabilities designed to support children’s hospitals amid increasing operational and cost pressures.

Under the renewed agreement, CHA members will continue to receive core and aggregation support solutions while gaining access to a broader suite of innovative services, bolstering financial sustainability to balance cost control.

“Children’s hospitals are key to building healthy futures for every child. Because of the specialized care they provide, children’s hospitals face unique clinical, operational and financial challenges,” said John Mikesic, chief supply chain officer, CHA. “Our expanded partnership with Vizient builds on our shared commitment to equip our member hospitals and providers with the data, expertise and tools they need to improve efficiency, manage risk and support quality pediatric care.”

Expanded offerings under the renewed agreement include:

  • Access to Vizient’s industry-leading catalog of medical and surgical supplies.
  • Cell and gene therapy expertise to support operational readiness in an emerging, high-cost therapeutic category.
  • Pharmacy enterprise support and analytics with benchmarking.
  • Capital Spend Insights to streamline quote submission and review and drive cost savings.
  • Expanded consultant services in acute and non-acute care.

These additions complement existing solutions including Supply Analytics with benchmarking to identify savings opportunities, access to the Data Management Platform for deeper insights into spend data and aggregated solutions through the Pediatric Alliance.

“This renewal reflects the strength of our partnership with Children’s Hospital Association and our shared focus on delivering actionable insights and measurable value,” said Rand Ballard, chief customer officer, Vizient. “By expanding access to analytics, pharmacy expertise and supply risk capabilities, we are helping children’s hospitals better navigate complexity while remaining focused on patient care.”
