CHA Statement on Domestic Policy Framework

Children's hospitals are pleased to see today's progress on President Biden's domestic policy legislative framework.

WASHINGTON, DC—On behalf of America's children's hospitals, we are pleased to see today's progress on President Biden's domestic policy legislative framework. We support the inclusion of long sought-after policies like CHIP permanency, 12-month continuous eligibility in Medicaid and CHIP, maternal health protections and an expanded child tax credit. These are policies that will help improve children's access to vital health care services while helping lift families out of poverty. We also support the inclusion of a one-time funding bump for the Children's Hospitals Graduate Medical Education (CHGME) program.

We look forward to continuing our bipartisan work with Congress to address the mental health crisis plaguing children and teens by expanding our nation's mental health care capacity, investing in pediatric-care infrastructure and increasing the funding for pediatric training through CHGME.
