Amy Wimpey Knight Appointed President of Children's Hospital Association

Knight is the first female president of CHA.

WASHINGTON, DC — Last November, Amy Wimpey Knight was appointed President of the Children's Hospital Association (CHA). In her role, Knight will work with children's hospital executives across the country to advance the collaborative work of the nation's children's hospitals. Leveraging the collective expertise and experience of children's hospitals and health systems, CHA's programming aims to improve the performance of children's hospitals and drive improvement in health care and health outcomes for children.

Knight will lead executive search efforts for a Chief Financial and Administrative Officer and Chief Quality and Solutions Officer. She is the first female president of CHA.

"Working with our Board and children's hospital leaders across the country, Amy's contributions have been key to creating the collaboration and momentum to elevate children's health care on the national stage," said Mark Wietecha, CEO of CHA.

"In assuming the role of president, she will provide important leadership within our organization and among children's hospitals as we look toward the next decade and the unprecedented challenges to children's health and health care due to the COVID-19 pandemic."

"Our nation's children's hospitals touch every child—training pediatricians, discovering therapies that will impact a child for a lifetime and caring for the smallest neonates to young adults, they are working to ensure the health and well-being of our next generation," said Knight, "and I am honored to serve as president as we look toward driving change in the coming decade."
