Joint CHIP Quality Letter to House Energy & Commerce Committee and Senate Finance Committee

On Mon., March 9, the Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics and March of Dimes sent a joint letter to the chairmen and ranking members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the Senate Finance Committee.

The letter reiterated the groups’ request for any CHIP extension to include a four-year extension of pediatric quality funding for the Pediatric Quality Measures Program and related demonstration grants. The letter also included proposed report language to accompany any extension that specifically recognizes the important role of the PQMP Centers of Excellence and clarifies congressional intent to use any renewed funding to create a competitive process to advance the centers and further advance the field of pediatric quality measurement.
