On July 12 to July 13, patients and families from children’s hospitals across the country will travel to Washington, D.C. to advocate on behalf of children’s health during the thirteenth annual Speak Now for Kids Family Advocacy Day. Follow our young champions who will share stories of their health care journey with legislators to illustrate why all children need children’s hospitals and how public policy can influence their access to health care.
The event will kick off on July 12, with a sightseeing bus tour of the city, lunch at the hotel and an interactive advocate training for all ages that will prepare participants for legislative visits the next day. That evening, families will be swept into a patriotic-themed dinner celebration, including live music and other family-friendly entertainment.
On July 13, hospital representatives and families will head to Capitol Hill to meet with legislators and their staff. Lunch will be provided on the Hill. The day will conclude with a send-off social gathering at the hotel.
