Join us for the first session of our youth suicide prevention summer webinar series, brought to you by the Children's Hospital Association and Nationwide Children's Hospital in cooperation with the Ohio Children's Hospital Association, and the Ohio Youth Suicide Prevention Collaborative.
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe racial and ethnic disparities in youth suicidal ideation, attempts, and suicide mortality
- Explain how structural racism, social determinants of health, and/or systemic barriers contribute to inequities in suicide risk and care
- Identify strategies to promote equity in screening, assessment, engagement, and treatment of suicidal youth
- Apply equity‑informed approaches to program design, quality improvement, and evaluation in pediatric suicide prevention

About the presenter
Josephine Ridley, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist and suicidologist with over 30 years of experience in evidence-based practices, suicide prevention, diversity, and trauma-informed care. She serves as a consultant for the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation, is an adjunct associate professor at Case Western Reserve University, and co-editor of the British Journal of Guidance and Counselling. Ridley has trained mental health professionals worldwide and is featured on Psychwire and Wisemind.com.
