As the first 2020 Census mailings begin to hit households in advance of Census Day, April 1, 2020, efforts are ramping up to highlight the importance of counting all kids. From news stories to awareness days, organizations across the country are communicating with families to include all children as they complete census questionnaires. The Federation of Pediatric Organizations has designated March 25, 2020, Every Child Counts Day for pediatric community engagement; you can use the toolkit above to amplify this important day. You can also utilize these Sesame Workshop bilingual videos, audio, posters and social media that playfully remind families to make everyone count.
As of March 12, households are able to respond online, by phone or by mail. An accurate count of all children is critical to ensuring families, hospitals, educators and communities have the resources they need for the next 10 years.
