Member Highlight Webinar: Hospital Collaborations with Schools

CHA is offering a series of member highlight webinars to bring the concepts presented in the 2017 Essentials in Population Health series to life through member hospital experiences.

Join us for this member highlight webinar where two hospitals will share the steps they've taken to partner with local schools to promote the health and well being of children in their communities.

Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh has partnered with the Alliance for a Healthier Generation to implement Healthy Schools and Healthy Out of School time programs in their region. They'll discuss how they've leveraged the hospital's resources and community partnerships to improve outcomes.

Children's National Health System is using its role as an anchor institution in the District of Columbia to contribute to optimal academic outcomes for students. Through the hospital's community health needs assessment process they developed a cross sector collaboration between DC schools and the hospital to identify children at risk for suboptimal academic outcomes.

Learning Objectives:
• Address different levels of engagement possible in hospital and schools collaborations
• Discuss the opportunities a national level partner such as the Alliance for Healthier Generation can provide
• Understand the framework needed to share data between healthcare and education partners

Presenters:

Anne Marie Kuchera, Director, Health Improvement Partnerships, Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC

Danielle Dooley, MD, MPhil, FAAP, Medical Director, Community Affairs and Population Health, Children's National Health System

The Member Highlights series is part of the Children’s Hospital Association’s 2017 Essentials in Population Health effort to support children’s hospitals in understanding key concepts in a shifting health care landscape. While the Essentials webinars are only open to CHA members, the Member Highlights are open to all.
