These are examples of projects made possible through recent Mattel Play Grants.

Teen Lounge 
Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital, Long Beach, CA

A seldom used consultation space was successfully transformed into a beautiful teen lounge. Complete with age appropriate design style and activities such as music, computer games and interactive arcade games, the room is an inviting space, used for teen socialization and peer support activities.

Creative Play in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit

Patient rooms in the Epilepsy Monitoring Units have been equipped with the necessary wall interactive toys that serve as tools to help patients cope with tests, procedures and extended isolation while hospitalized



Emergency Department Interactive Floor
Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI

At Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin there's an interactive floor for patients. Simple movements  activate shapes and allow children in the Emergency Room  to engage in soothing interactive play that may help reduce stress and anxiety in an otherwise stressful environment.
