CHA Responds to Executive Order on Childhood Vaccine Recommendation
Vaccines are our "most effective defense" against preventable childhood illness, CHA CEO says.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the administration's recent executive order to reduce and modify vaccinations recommended for children, Matthew Cook, CEO of the Children's Hospital Association, released the following statement:
"Vaccines are our most effective defense against preventable childhood illnesses; thousands of studies and decades of evidence showing vaccine safety and success cannot be disputed. This outlined change to the childhood vaccine schedule is not evidence-based, and the data is clear that children continue to benefit from receiving vaccinations.
"It is crucial that parents have clear, evidence-based information about vaccines and their role in preventing serious illness. Parents should bring any questions about vaccines to their child's pediatrician or clinician.”
