CHA Responds to HHS’ Changes to Vaccine Recommendations
WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to HHS’ changes in the number and types of vaccines included on the childhood immunization schedule, Children’s Hospital Association (CHA) CEO Matthew Cook released the following statement:
“Vaccinations have long been our strongest defense against preventable childhood illnesses and public health tragedies and are a critical tool to help children grow into healthy adults. Any changes to the childhood vaccine schedule should be guided by the best available evidence for the long-term health of children.
At CHA, we believe that every health care decision a parent or guardian makes is in pursuit of a healthy and happy future for their child. We stand by access to vaccines and encourage parents and guardians to speak with their doctors about vaccine options to protect their child.”
