Children's Hospital Association Comments on Changes to Childhood Vaccine Schedule
WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ changes to guidance on the Hepatitis B vaccine for children, Children’s Hospital Association CEO Matthew Cook released the following statement:
“The Children’s Hospital Association supports vaccinations and families’ ability to access them. Vaccines are our strongest defense against preventable public health tragedies and a critical tool to help children grow into healthy adults. The risk of children contracting Hepatitis B without a vaccination has not decreased, and we believe any changes to the vaccine schedule should be guided by the best available evidence for the long-term health of children.”
