CHA submitted a statement for the record for the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee hearing, "Preparing for the Next Public Health Emergency: Reauthorizing the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act (PAHPA)."

Our statement calls on Congress to prioritize the unique health care needs of children and the pediatric health care system when reauthorizing PAHPA programs and initiatives that aim to improve public health and medical preparedness. Solutions include bolstering the National Advisory Committee on Children and Disasters, equipping the Strategic National Stockpile with pediatric supplies and strengthening pediatric readiness within the medical countermeasure enterprise.
