Telehealth has increasingly been used to expand access to care and efficiency within health care systems. Most recently, the world has seen a massive surge in telehealth services due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

While these interventions will continue to offer increased access to the most marginalized of populations, special consideration should be given when planning telehealth programs to ensure that health care disparities are not unintentionally exacerbated.
