Elevating patient stories and educating lawmakers about the unique role of children's hospitals will remain critical toward increasing awareness about the ongoing and essential care provided by children's hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a result, we are again offering an innovative event, Speak Now for Kids Family Advocacy Day, from June 12-14. Patient families will represent their children's hospitals to engage with lawmakers by video conference to increase awareness about and advance public policy priorities to address:
- The mental, emotional and behavioral health emergency in children, many of whom also struggle with medical conditions
- Timely access to doctors and other professionals trained to meet the unique health care needs of children
- The vital role Medicaid and CHIP play in families’ lives, providing health insurance to nearly half of all children

Our online registration is designed to be user-friendly and efficient for hospitals registering families for the event. A list of questions asked in registration is available and can be provided to families in advance.
The portal is to be used by hospital staff only. Staff can register all family members participating in the event. The portal also collects information on hospital staff associated with the family.
Families registered by Friday, April 29, will receive a Family Advocacy Day t-shirt for the child patient, and hospitals will receive customized digital materials that can be used for your advocacy efforts.
