Children's Hospital Association submitted a statement for the record for the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee hearing, “Legislative Proposals to Prevent and Respond to Generic Drug Shortages.”
Our statement calls on Congress to prioritize the unique health care needs of children when strengthening and stabilizing the nation’s supply chain to forestall shortages. Solutions include requiring manufacturer and distributor transparency, strengthening the Food and Drug Administration's authority to prevent avoidable shortages and ensuring access to drugs subject to penny pricing.
