Children’s Hospital Association submitted comments in response to the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Public Charge Ground of Inadmissibility proposed rule.

This rule would rescind the 2022 Biden Administration public charge final rule and expand the scope of what public benefits may be considered by immigration officers, to any social or health services people may use. It would also make several changes that would rely heavily on the discretion of individual immigration officials.

In this letter, we request DHS to rescind the rule and outline the negative impact the proposed changes would have on children's access to care.
