Technology Dependence Codes by Body System

Technology dependency (TD) codes can be used to identify children with a particular TD category or body system or identify patients with multiple TD categories.

The Complex Chronic Conditions (CCC) classification system are groupings with International Classification of Diseases (ICD) codes developed in 2000 and updated to version 3 in 2024. In version 3, technology dependency (TD) is separated from CCC diagnosis and procedure codes.

Using International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10) codes consistent with TD, each of the ICD-10 codes for TD within the CCC classification system were grouped into seven body system and 54 TD categories.

The TD categories can be used to identify children with a particular TD category or body system or identify patients with multiple TD categories.
