Paul R. Haut, MD

President, Children's Hospital Association

Paul R. Haut, MD, is president of Children’s Hospital Association, the nation’s only association dedicated only to children’s hospitals.

Dr. Haut is a seasoned health care executive and certified leadership coach with more than 30 years’ experience in children’s hospitals and academic medicine.

At Riley Children’s Health in Indianapolis, Dr. Haut served as chief operating officer, chief medical officer, and interim president. His tenure was marked by operational excellence, strategic growth, and clinical innovation across the pediatric health system. Clinically, he led Riley Health’s Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant Program.

After a 20-year tenure at Riley, Dr. Haut served as an associate professor of pediatrics at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis before becoming a certified professional leadership coach and opening his firm, PRHaut Leadership.

Dr. Haut graduated from Brown University with a degree in political science before earning a medical degree from the University of Arkansas College of Medicine. He completed his fellowship in hematology and oncology at Children’s Memorial Hospital/Northwestern University, which is now recognized as Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
