Advocacy Events

CHA hosts advocacy days in Washington, D.C., for patient families and other children's hospital stakeholders.

Advocacy day programs often feature educational briefings, remarks from lawmakers and Washington insiders, opportunities to network among fellow patient families and peers at other children's hospitals, and a chance to carry forward a unified message to Congress in support of children's health.

2020 Speak Now for Kids Family Advocacy Week

As a substitute for 2020 Speak Now for Kids Family Advocacy Day, we will offer an innovative event, Family Advocacy Week, from August 10-14, 2020, for patient families to represent children's hospitals and engage with lawmakers in their states and districts—either by video conference or in-person as appropriate. The week will also offer a range of fun activities to encourage and support community building among the families from wherever they are. Elevating patient stories and educating lawmakers about the unique role of children's hospitals will remain critical toward increasing awareness about the ongoing and essential care provided by children's hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic.
