Advocacy Events

Every year, the Children's Hospital Association hosts advocacy days in Washington, D.C., each with a different goal and focused on different participants from the children's hospital community.

Advocacy Day programs feature educational briefings, remarks from lawmakers and Washington insiders, opportunities to network with colleagues and a chance to carry forward a unified message to Congress to protect children's health.

2018 Executive Health Policy Summit & Capitol Hill Advocacy Day

January 9-11, 2018

The 2018 Executive Health Policy Summit (formerly the CEO Health Policy Summit) and Capitol Hill Advocacy Day is a unique opportunity for leaders of children’s hospitals to learn about policy issues affecting our industry and to develop collective strategies for CHA and children’s hospitals.

The multi-day event offers speakers from government officials and political experts, as well as peer-to-peer discussions about the challenges and opportunities facing children’s hospitals over the coming years.

Attendees are strongly encouraged to visit their elected officials in Congress, as well as their governors’ Washington offices during this event. The Executive Health Policy Summit is appropriate for senior leadership and government relations professionals from children’s hospitals.

2018 Speak Now for Kids Family Advocacy Day

June 26-27, 2018

The Speak Now for Kids Family Advocacy Day program provides children’s hospital patients and families the opportunity to advocate on behalf of their hospitals and current child health issues.

The event features a family-friendly program tailored to accommodate the unique needs of patients and families.

While in Washington, D.C., families learn how to become effective citizen advocates and meet with lawmakers to share their story alongside children’s hospital government relations experts.

Patients and families also work with their hospital and CHA to garner local and national media attention before, during and after the event and participate in year-round activities in support of the ongoing Speak Now for Kids campaign efforts and their respective children’s hospital.

Event registration will open in January 2018.
