On June 15-16, 44 child patients and 38 children's hospitals participated in Speak Now for Kids Advocacy Day to meet with members of Congress and advocate for children's health. The event kicked off with local radio interviews, a sightseeing bus tour of the city, lunch at the hotel and a fun, interactive briefing to prepare families for their legislative visits the next day. That evening, all attendees participated in a patriotic-themed dinner celebration, including live music and other family-friendly entertainment.

The event yielded media impressions of 64 million, thanks in part to strong local coverage from stations such as ABC affiliate WJLA-TV in Washington, DC and a news segment on EWTN’s Nightly News. The exposure helped raise awareness of the challenges that families with children with medical complexity face and the public policy solutions that children’s hospitals are advancing.
