Children's Hospitals Congratulate Price as HHS Secretary
Washington, D.C. — The Children’s Hospital Association welcomes the official confirmation of Tom Price as secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Price, whose nomination as secretary was approved 52 to 47 by the full Senate earlier this morning, has served in the House of Representatives for six terms, where he has been a leading voice within the Republican Party on health care policy.
Before taking up his role in Congress, Price served his community as an orthopedic surgeon. In his position as Secretary of HHS, he will oversee 11 agencies, including the National Institutes of Health and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Children’s hospitals look forward to working with Secretary Price to ensure every child across the country has access to high quality, cost-effective care tailored to meet their unique health care needs.
