On Nov. 11, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Hospital Association joined with the Children's Hospital Association in submitting a letter to the White House urging President Obama to include full funding for the Children’s Hospitals Graduate Medical Education program (CHGME) in the FY 2017 budget. The letter calls on the White House to take a step forward in pediatric medicine by recommending funding for CHGME at the program’s authorized level of $300 million in the final budget of President Obama’s term of office. The President’s budget is expected to be released in February of 2016. The letter has also been shared with HHS Secretary Burwell and with other offices within the Administration.
