CHA Joins Other Advocates for Children in Urging Congress to Act Soon on CHIP

On Oct. 14, CHA joined allied children’s health groups in sending a letter to Capitol Hill leaders urging Congress to quickly turn to extending funding for the CHIP program, which is currently set to expire in 2017. The letter highlights the important role CHIP plays in providing coverage to children and pregnant women and in ensuring kids have access to pediatric-appropriate benefits. Additionally, the letter emphasizes the importance in giving states fiscal certainty by moving quickly on CHIP. Throughout the year, CHA and member hospitals have been reaching out to House and Senate offices to press for early action on CHIP to ensure that there are no disruptions to children’s coverage and access to care.
