About This Event
The Together for Kids Pediatric Quality Conference will be held April 5-7, 2027, in Anaheim, Calif. This conference gives children’s hospitals the opportunity to connect, share learnings, and collaborate on care and system improvements that impact child health outcomes.
Help your peers advance solutions in children’s health by sharing your organizations’ approaches for improving children’s health and health care through advancements in data analytics and practice improvement efforts. Children's Hospital Association supports work that integrates the quality improvement science and uses data to tell a story. Your experience can help other children’s hospitals and health systems evaluate their improvement processes as they implement change. Submit your proposal by July 30.
Driven by the evolving priorities of children’s hospitals, health systems and communities, the conference will focus on seven areas:
Enhancing quality in behavioral health
- Initiatives aimed at improving behavior and mental health care processes to reduce risk and improve care outcomes
- Interventions that expand access to timely behavioral health services (e.g., outpatient, primary care, etc.)
- Actions that identify health disparities in behavioral health patient populations and addresses disparities with equity related interventions
- Techniques of rapid design and response to treat acute pediatric behavioral health issues (e.g., youth suicide prevention, firearm injury prevention, and behavioral escalation management
Population and community health improvement outcomes
- Solutions focused on building and sustaining partnerships with community-based organizations that contribute to improvements in child health
- Explore efforts addressing effective care transitions and population-level disparities through the integration of school-based initiatives into pediatric healthcare (e.g., attendance, ER visits, readmission, etc.)
- Ambulatory and community-based efforts to advance access and equitable population health outcomes
Optimizing workforce wellbeing using quality and process improvement
- Quality strategies aimed at increasing workforce retention, joy of work, well-being, and engagement
- Process improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, streamlining work, enhancing access to care, and increasing the capability and capacity of the system workforce
- Safety interventions that address workplace violence, mitigate harm, and strengthen psychological and physical safety
Innovations in clinical improvement
- Multidisciplinary and ambulatory collaborations that result in measurable improvements to clinical outcomes
- Clinical processes grounded in high reliability principles that lead to sustained clinical advancement
- Initiatives that utilize quality improvement methodologies to elevate patient and family engagement as partners in clinical innovation
Technology and analytic enhancements
- System level technology, artificial intelligence, and analytical solutions that measurably advance clinical improvement
- Quality measurement tools and applications demonstrating positive child health outcomes
- Strategies that involve data usage and integration into quality improvement methodologies
- Interactive and engaging data visualizations that bring improvements to life, turning data into a compelling story of progress, impact, and outcomes for frontline staff
Health equity solutions and outcomes
- Equity focused initiatives that identify, measure, and address disparities in pediatric healthcare
- Multi-sector and community partnerships that address and reduce health disparities
- Practical initiatives and strategies that promote equitable access to care and sustainable results (e.g., order set and policy changes that address health equity)
- Findings that reduce variations in care and outcomes within diverse segments of the patient population
Honing leadership for health care quality effectiveness
- Projects that increase the acumen of leaders pursuing quality improvement while fostering a culture where quality is everyone's responsibility
- Strategies that advance and reveal the value of quality improvement
- Networking and best practice sharing to strengthen pediatric quality improvement across institutions
- Growing foundational skills for clinical and operating leaders to support quality work to improve child health outcomes
