Collaborate with the public affairs team to support the enactment of CHA’s federal affairs agenda.

Location: Washington, D.C.

Summary

  • Work collaboratively with the public affairs team to support the enactment of children's hospitals' and CHA's federal affairs agenda.
  • Lead congressional legislative efforts related to assigned public policy issues by monitoring current action in Congress, coordinating with the policy team to determine CHA's position and participating in congressional meetings.
  • Develop legislative advocacy materials such as testimonies, fact sheets, legislative summaries, talking points and letters.
  • Develop successful working partnerships with members of Congress, congressional staff and other federal officials in support of advancing CHA's public policy agenda.
  • Participate in coalitions in specific issue areas to garner support among allied organizations for policy positions supporting children's hospitals' priorities.
  • Work with children's hospitals' government relations staff to assess and develop potential congressional champions and policy positions, assist in disseminating information and understanding the impact of policy proposals.
  • Assist with preparation for congressional visits and accompany hospital staff on lobbying visits.
