Clinical Impact of a Pediatric Sepsis Quality Improvement Collaborative: Interim Analysis

Improving Pediatric Sepsis Outcomes (IPSO) collaborative creates tools to make progress against sepsis.

In 2016, IPSO founding CHA hospitals and a National Expert Advisory Committeebegan work to reduce mortality from severe sepsis and improve survivor outcomes. Their efforts focused on how to identify sepsis earlier and initiate more timely treatment. The first two years of implementing changes demonstrated that the strategies IPSO participants created were succeeding.

Forty IPSO hospitals, representing 74% of the collaborative participants, submitted complete data for the interim analysis period. An IPSO representative presented a poster summarizing results at the 2019 Pediatric Academic Society meeting.

Review findings in an overview of the poster presentation.
