Children's needs highlighted in response to Murray-Pallone public option RFI

We joined with allied children’s groups on a response to a request for information from Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., and Rep. Frank Pallone, D-N.J., on design considerations for possible legislation to develop a public health insurance option. Without taking a position on a public option, the joint letter delineates key considerations for children’s coverage in general and highlights the critical role Medicaid and CHIP play for children’s health.

Additionally, we signed a similar letter by the Habilitation Coalition. That letter also takes no position on a public option, instead providing background information about habilitation and calls for the coverage of habilitative services and devices in all types of insurance.
