Allied 340B Groups Urge Senate Finance Leaders to Protect 340B

On April 9, CHA along with the 340B Coalition sent a letter to Senate Finance leadership asking them to prevent any changes to the 340B Drug Discount Program (340B) that would reduce or eliminate the 340B savings that safety-net providers use. As discussions around drug pricing continues, there is a concern that cuts to 340B could be made as part of a deal. The letter specifically calls out a harmful provision included in both the House and Senate packages that would require Medicaid MCOs to pay for all retail pharmacy drugs based on actual acquisition costs. Changes to the 340B program, especially during a pandemic, are very concerning.
