A Look at how the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute and Civil Monetary Penalties Law Impact Community Focused Work
Children’s hospitals working to address social determinants of health in their communities need to be aware of federal fraud and abuse laws such as the Physician Self-Referral Law (Stark Law), the federal Anti-Kickback Statute, and the Civil Monetary Penalty Law that may limit work in this area. This webinar highlights how recently finalized regulations under these laws impact a hospital’s ability to address patient’s social needs and identifies considerations when structuring programs to avoid inadvertent violations. This presentation is geared towards programmatic staff, but may be of interest to government relations and hospital legal teams as well.
